1. There are people out there who believe that you can type in any query to Wikipedia and it will spit out a non-verified answer which is then copied and pasted into the research paper of your choice.

    When will people stop thinking of Wikipedia as a lazy rip-off of the real encyclopedia and begin to consider it as, simply, a faster encyclopedia? If I’m writing a paper about butts, I could go to Wikipedia and steal a few choice sentences about butts or I could go to the leather-bound set of Encyclopedia Britannica volumes I keep next to my bed (first edition naturally) and steal a few choice sentences about butts. It’s the same butt-info, just faster and less damaging to my trust fund books.

    Besides, calling anyone who just steals shit from Wikipedia a “student” is going a little far.
